Manipur Defeats Nagaland by 5 Wickets in the 1st NE Little Masters Trophy 2025

 

Manipur began their campaign with a 5-wicket victory over Nagaland in the 1st NE Little Masters Trophy 2025, held at the ACA Cricket Academy Ground, Fulung, Guwahati. A disciplined bowling performance followed by a steady chase helped Manipur claim their first win of the tournament.

1st Innings – Nagaland: 80/10 in 18.4 Overs

Batting first after losing the toss, Nagaland was bowled out for 80 runs in just 18.4 overs. Chubasunep was the top scorer with 16 off 20 balls, but the rest of the lineup fell quickly under pressure from Manipur’s bowlers.

Manipur’s bowling attack was effective and balanced. Lamnganba N struck early, returning figures of 2/15 in 5 overs, while Ningthoujam Bidtananda Singh delivered a key spell of 2/29 in 4 overs. The innings was wrapped up in quick fashion with Shohel Akter claiming 2 wickets in just 4 deliveries (2/0 in 0.4 overs).

2nd Innings – Manipur: 81/5 in 13.2 Overs

Chasing a modest target, Manipur reached 81/5 in 13.2 overs. The innings was anchored by Sagatpam Telheiba, who scored 22 off 27 balls, ensuring a smooth chase despite the loss of a few wickets.

Nagaland’s Sangtsulen Tshunherii impressed with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs in 4.2 overs, but the total proved too small to defend.
