The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), in collaboration with the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and Nagaland Athletics, today successfully organized the State Red Run 2025 at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chümoukedima. This year’s run carried the theme “Run for Awareness, Run Against HIV and STIs.”
The program began with a welcome address, followed by the pledge and flag-off ceremony led by Dr. Ahu Sekhose, Project Director, NSACS. The event featured two categories:
- State Level Red Run 10K (Men & Women)
- Open 10K (Men & Women)
The Open 10K races were flagged off by Shri. Abu Metha, Secretary General & Vice President, Athletics Federation of India (AFI).
A total of 224 runners registered for the event, showcasing the community’s strong support for the cause.
The prize distribution and closing ceremony took place at the Multidisciplinary Stadium, Sovima, Chümoukedima, where short remarks were delivered by Shri. Abu Metha and Dr. Ahu Sekhose, Project Director, NSACS before presenting awards to the winners.

- 3rd: Mr. Takasanen Longkumer (Mokokchung)
State Level 10K (Women):
- 1st: Miss Tsuchoi T (Dimapur)
- 2nd: Miss Niansai T (Dimapur)
- 3rd: Miss Jemie Y (Tuensang)
Open 10K (Men):
- 1st: Mr. Wede Tmero (Phek)
- 2nd: Mr. Ringhorsem Muinao (Assam)
- 3rd: Mr. Thotngacheirin Hunphun Luiyi (Senapati)
- 4th: Mr. Arjun Chetri (Assam)
- 5th: Mr. Nagalong T Tikhir (Dimapur)
Open 10K (Women):
- 1st: Miss Makakmayum Minarashi (Assam)
- 2nd: Miss Peiheiteile Esalung (Peren)
- 3rd: Miss Rutseinuo (Chümoukedima)
- 4th: Miss Anjali Kumari (Dimapur)
- 5th: Miss Ilungkuale Newme (Chümoukedima)
The State Red Run 2025 witnessed enthusiastic participation from across Nagaland and neighbouring states. More than a race, the event was a collective effort to raise awareness and strengthen the fight against HIV and STIs through sports and community spirit.
